<description>"if Darwinism doesn’t explain the origin of life, only the evolution of life forms - and it was never meant to, as you state, then why, pray-tell, is the book by Darwin called “The Origin of Species”?"

Heya! It would be better stated as "The origin of species from other already-existing species", or, as those crazy scientists say, "Descent with modification". FYI, "abiogenesis" is the process that describes life from non-life, and biochemists are working hard on coming up with a scientific theory from the various hypothesis for how life comes to be!

And I know this has been stated a million times before, but a "scientific theory" is a framework used to explain a bunch of evidence/facts. It's our "best current explanation" for a given field of science. For example, we have a Theory of Gravity explaining what we observe and can currently measure. If new data/evidence comes in that contradicts the current theory we will either update the theory, or throw it out and replace it with something that better explains the evidence! That's the beauty of science! The evidence always wins and it's up to us silly humans to explain the evidence with the best scientifically testable theories we can come up with! Cheers!</description>
