Last Week’s Hard Starboard Update

The good news continues to roll out of Iraq - and straight down the Enemy Media black hole….

Much sound and fury, signifying nothing.  I refer not to the resignation of Iran’s chief “nuclear negotiator,” Ali Larijani, but to the hyperventilating speculation as to “what it means”….

Not that any of this matters, you understand, since Hillary Clinton is above the law and always has been, but the criminal racket that is her fundraising apparatus that she is allowing her friends in the Enemy Media to expose like an open house documentary is almost as remarkable as her evident lack of concern over its exposure….

California Democrat Representative Pete Stark apologized for his slanderous attack on President Bush during the SCHIP veto override debate….sort of.

Hot & cold, rain & shine, drought & flood, fire & ice, EVERYTHING these days is the fault of “global warming”.  Just ask Harry Reid.

In an Israeli prime minister that is “confidently” willing to hand over half or more of his capital city, as well as ancestral holy place, to the Islamist enemies that want to annihilate him and his people, the relentlessly Arabist U.S. State Department and its latest front person, Condoleeza Rice, have finally found a true partner in appeasement.

I always wondered what Charlie Rangel would do if he ever actually got the chance to chair the House Ways & Means Committee.  The dismal reality shows that I was not, after all, suffering from a lack of imagination.

It is not much of an exaggeration to say that an honest slogan for today’s environmentalist movement is “go green or die.”  Encouraging it is to see a Republican senator respond in the greatest Patrick Henry tradition.

Isn’t Opie Edwards’ commitment to freedom of the press an inspiring sight to behold?

Crash II

I was going to motifize another weekly show promo by going on an extended bleat about another lousy week at the office and how my day job is once again taking over my life, but after perusing Doug Gibbs’ promo, I think I’ll just put that angle in back in mothballs, sit down, shut up, and listen at 7 PM Eastern, 4 PM Pacific.

But not this morning, certainly, as there is Hillary analysis to do!  How bad was she in the Donk debate on Tuesday?  Has she damaged her chances at the Democrat nomination?  Or is this just that much more ado about nothing, as the Chappaqua juggarnautress rolls inexorably towards the White House?

And really, how can I deny the planet another look at….

….this face that Jim Geraghty is making famous?

1PM Eastern/10AM Pacific

Listen Live

UPDATE: What an apt post title, as my show got cut off right after the intro, at least on the podcast.  Apparently on the air as well, judging from the “Where’s the show?” questions that kept popping up in my chatroom.

The jist of the show nobody apparently heard (or was even able to hear) can be found here.

Maybe Geraghty Should Be My Agent

It seems that the discovery on the part of the master of the HillarySpot of my chuckle-inducing quirk of referring to the avowedly Romney-backing & flacking Hugh Hewitt’s blog as “RomneyIsGod.com” and the scarcely any less Rudy-leaning (or at the very least decidedly anti-Romney) American Spectator Online as Giuliani Central Hub is spreading my newfound fame far and wide, judging by TAS’s John Tabin’s reaction:

I see via Jim Geraghty that a Fred Thompson enthusiast at HeadingRight.com has slapped that label on TAS. Oddly enough, the only cited example of “Rudy backers” in these parts is a link to a Prowler column. A few months ago we were getting a different complaint from readers (scroll down to “Unconcerned Conservatives”): “The Prowler needs to endorse Fred Thompson. It’s a fairly consistent drum-beat from that column propping up Thompson and tearing down Romney.”

Well, I’ll freely and enthusiastically acknowledge the “Fred Thompson enthusiast” label that Mr. Tabin slapped on me.  A cursory check of my sidebar will confirm that.

As to the rest, I’m afraid he’s implicitly jumping to some unwarranted conclusions.

In the original post in question, I was commenting on Double-H summarily declaring the GOP primaries “a two-man race” between Rudy and Mitt, as though FDT - WHO’s MY GUY, JOHN, AND DON’T YOU FORGET IT!!!! [*ahem*, pardon me] - had ceased to exist.  I then cited some of Romney’s nettlesome problems from a TAS piece to illustrate how the former Massachusetts governor hasn’t emerged from the proverbial woods for this mano-a-mano showdown by a long shot.

What I was manifestly not doing was attempting to bolster at great, or any, length the case that TAS is pro-Giuliani.  I have no doubt that I could, if I had either the time to do so or the axe to grind, neither of which I possess.  Doesn’t really seem necessary to me, as all you have to do is follow their group blog to get a pretty clear picture of which horse they have in the GOP race.  Or you can save a mouse click and simply check out the lead article on their main page from their leading Rudy cheerleader.  Nice to see them making it so easy for me to make the case I wasn’t trying to make - at least in the post J-Ger noticed.

For the record, I couldn’t give a targ’s ass who gets endorsed by TAS, or the Prowler, or John Tabin even.  That’s probably because it looks so day-glo obvious who they’re already leaning toward.  But if they do ultimately lurch the other direction and go with Ready Freddie, I won’t gloat.  It’ll just fuel my burgeoning global fame as “that Fred Thompson enthusiast at Heading Right.”
