Thursday/Friday Hard Starboard Recap

Updates on the Hilldebeast and Donkgress, and if Lebanon is truly “crying for help,” the sure solution is still out there, remaining to be implemented.  But his distribution list tells me he doesn’t think his country is in proximity to imminent rescue from creeping Syrian re-predation.

If Generalissimo Barack Obama wanted to stop wearing an American flag lapel pin, that’s his business.  Why, then, did he feel compelled to make a “statement” out of it?  And since it was obviously a pander to the nutroots, doesn’t that reasonably bring his patriotism, and theirs, into question?  Maybe he should have held a presser and burned a flag instead.

This one is called “meeting the daily brownnose quota.”

Would a Rudy Giuliani nomination actually split off 27% of the Republican vote?  Probably not that much, much less to a meaningless third party insurgency (which some are now suggesting will be Ron Paul - that’s bad news for Hillary, if you ask me….).  But a larger proportion of the pro-life base would almost certainly stay home on Election Day than with Fred or Mitt topping the ticket, and if it was close, that could tip the balance her Nib’s way.

Back in 1995, the last time the NoKo hammer rose, I wrote (paraphrased):

I can’t say how or when, but sooner or later there will be another, bigger confrontation with nuclear North Korea because of Bill Clinton’s capitulation to the Kim regime now.

That hammer started coming down again in late 2002 when Pyongyang boasted that, thanks to the “Agreed Framework” agreement, they now had nuclear warheads.  What followed was several years of more or less constant brinksmanship and bluster from the gargoyled, pot-bellied dictator, culminating a year ago in an actual underground nuclear test that…well…didn’t go quite as planned.

So Kim has backed off - for now.  And we’re rewarding him by not just leaving him in power, but lavishing more aid upon him, which he can and will use to embark upon further nuclear weapons development using facilities we don’t know about yet, until his hammer is ready to fall once again.

Is the joke on Hamas in Gaza for incurring a Fatah-orchestrated insurgency?  Or ought this to serve as a reminder that Fatah is a terrorist organization as well, and that the Israeli decision to retreat from Gaza looks more foolish than ever?
