….nobody, at least, who had my name.
Whose bright idea was it to schedule this thing in the middle of the work day?
On the other hand, maybe this is an implicit concession that the Fear of Fred was already put into the poobahs at CNBC.
You think Chris Matthews has come down with it as well? After reading the live-blog, he darn well should have.

Looks like CNBC is going to have all the candidates on one at a time for questions.
Robert Reich is a tool but a smart fellow. Can’t wait to hear him grill someone on taxes…

Too long. Knock off the losers next time, make it McCain, Rudy, Mitt, and Fred and reduce it to about an hour.
I think Rudy actually edged out Fred the last half hour but Thompson finished a close second. Romney third and McCain 4th.
Just how it is in the polls…

Yeah it was.
But I stil wouldn’t vote for him in a primary.

Paul is just an old bore now. A shrill, evil tempered, tantrum throwing 2 year old.
Away with him…
Y’all.

If the GOP handles it right, SCHIP should not be an issue in 2008. Of course everyone wants their kids insured by government. But if the Republicans can present it in the context of a broader effort by the Dems to nationalize (hence ration) health care, they can turn the tables on the Dems and make it a plus.

Does anyone else think Thompson looks frail and gaunt? Is he really healthy?
He sure looked better in Law and Order…

to smack down the little twerp. Moderators aren’t supposed to give their opinion about the quality or lack thereof of a candidate’s answer.
Jerko…

I would say that Fred and Rudy have shown themselves off the best. Romney a little less so. McCain a disappointment. Ditto Huckathing. Tom who?
And I suggest an online petition to keep Paul away from further debates.

It’s Fred’s day either way. All eyes were on him, he did well, even after Matthews needled him over WMD.
After tonight, it’s Rudy, Romney, McCain and Thompson.
Unfortunately Paul with his money influx will be around for a while.

Guilliani gets the liveliest when he tees off on Hillary, and he smacks her out of the park every time.
Still the best canditate to go toe-to-toe with her I think.

This would have sent Crissy over the edge.
“On April 26, 1980, President Carter reported the use of six aircraft and eight helicopters in an unsuccessful attempt of April 24 to rescue the American hostages in Iran. The report was submitted “consistent with the reporting provision” of the War Powers Resolution. President Carter said the United States was acting in accordance with its right under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter to protect and rescue its citizens where the government of the territory in which they are located is unable or unwilling to protect them. The Administration did not inform congressional leaders of the plan on grounds that consultation could endanger the success of the mission.”

Thompson is getting his legs. He’s more relaxed as this thing has gone along. He is shown himself competent, on top of the issues, smart, and even a little animated at times.
Expectations were so low, he’s got to be considered the winner.
