She was a news producer on ABC’s Nightline. She’s advised the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. She’s developed papers for the Council on Foreign Relations. She’s worked in Japan, Italy, Turkey, Iraq.

And now Lt. Col. Maria Carl has returned stateside following an eight-month assignment in Afghanistan at the Headquarters of the International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF). ISAF is the NATO military effort operating under the UN Mandate and is comprised of 37 different nations.

Her latest assignment has brought her to my area here on the Space Coast as Chief of Public Affairs for the 45th Space Wing at Patrick AFB / Cape Canaveral, FL.
