MILITARY BLOGGERS MAKE HISTORY
THE ANDREA SHEA KING SHOW PRESENTS…
“I looked at my schedule today, and I found it interesting that I would be sitting down with bloggers.” — President George W. Bush.
For the first time in history, a sitting President sat down with a group of military bloggers (probably ANY group of bloggers). There was no other media present and no press releases were given to announce the meeting before or afterwards.
THIS SUNDAY NIGHT AT 9 PM ET ON MY PROGRAM on WDBO Steve Schippert and CJ Grisham — two of ten military bloggers who were invited to the White House for a sit down meeting with the President — will tell us about their Great Adventure at the Oval Office.
“It is surreal to me that an Illinois farm kid finds himself - with absolutely no traditional pedigree beyond sweat, focus and self-study - seated in the Roosevelt Room with the President of the United States discussing the direction, progress and challenges as we see them in a conflict that history will reflect defines this generation.” — Steve Schippert (seated at President’s right, with his back to the camera), contributing blogger at ThreatsWatch.org and The Tank at National Review Online
Bill Roggio of the Long War Journal and Bill Ardolino of INDC Journal attended via video teleconference from Baghdad. Those seated in the Roosevelt Room adjacent to the Oval Office in the West Wing were The Armorer of Argghhh!, Matt Burden of Blackfive, Mrs. Greyhawk of Mudville Gazette (whose husband “Greyhawk” was attending to the nation’s business in Iraq), NZ Bear of the TTLB and the Victory Caucus , Steve Schippert of Threats Watch, Ward Carroll of Military.Com and Mohammed of Iraq the Model.
MILITARY BLOGGER CJ GRISHAM MEETS THE PRESIDENT
“I kept my eyes on the President almost the entire time. He made sure that he kept eye contact with us as he spoke. There wasn’t a person in that room who wasn’t included in his speech. President Bush spoke candidly to us. He didn’t speak at us and he didn’t speak down to us. He treated us like respectful Americans. When he spoke of his father’s WWII service, he literally teared up. Being right next to him, I caught a single tear attempt to roll down his left cheek before he casually wiped it away.” — CJ Grisham

If the player doesn’t launch all the way, and that happens sometimes if you have pop-ups running, just “X” it out (the player) and click the “listen live” link again. That should do it.
To participate in Andrea’s “live” in-show chat room, click here. In the upper right hand corner, click “enter chat room”. Once the chat room launches, click the “guest” box at the top, then type in the screen name that you’ll be using. Then you’ll be asked to choose between two chat rooms–choose Sunday Night Show. It’s that easy. Now, the chat room is optional but I encourage you to use it while listening to the show because you can ask questions and be part of the show. Plus you get to mingle with other listeners and bloggers.
See you Sunday night!
