National Security

McCain: “Took unpopular stands because I knew what was right” - his arrogance wrapped up in one sentence.

Command of his naval squadron the extent of Sailor’s executive experience.

Rudy going to Iraq without “creating publicity”?  Suuuuuure.

Rudy not running on his 9/11 leadership on the ground?  Suuuuure.

Handing municipal fiscal and crime crises have what to do with national security, exactly?

McCain 1, Giuliani 0

Romney: the “Surge” is apparently working?  He’s sounding like he’s saying, “Let’s declare victory and go home”.  Only difference with the Dems is he’s not saying the “Surge” has nothing to do with it.

McCain: “The Surge is working”.  Romney sliding off the rails on huge issue, and Sailor is scoring just as big.

Paul: No bloodbath if we cut & run from Iraq?  Iranian nukes are irrelevant?  Bring the troops home and wait for the jihadis to smash through our borders?  Constitution is a death warrant?  Iraq didn’t have congressional authorization?  Somebody turn this guy’s microphone off.  He can’t possibly have paid for it.

Hume: “We should take our marching orders from al Qaeda?”  That about sums up that exchange.

Brownback: Partition Iraq again.  And encourage Iraq family values, I guess.

Huckabee: Has oblivious NIE pessimism thrown at him.  His answer: “We broke it, we have to fix it?”  Color me underwhelmed.  He must grasp that since he’s trying to ride on McCain’s coattails.

Ron Paul: The DailyKos candidate for the GOP nomination.

We’re losing elections for defending the country, so we’ll win elections by doing what the nutroots want?

Paul’s idiocy overshadowing Romney’s weak answer (he hopes).

Hunter defending the troops.  Funny that it seems almost a novelty.

Tancredo: Is he gonna bring up bombing Mecca and Medina again?

Whew, saved by the bell.

Romney trying to salvage his earlier answer.  Not succeeding.

  1. Steve says:

Paul’s never voted for an unbalance budget, never voted to raise taxes, wants to abolish the IRS and replace it with nothing.

    These are Ko’s positions?

Paul wants to bring our troops home to defend OUR borders, not Iraq’s.

  2. Robert Micheal of the Saints says:

Steve, These candidates don’t have clue. I am afraid we are in trouble. What is more amazing, is that people clap at “ATTACK IRAN”!!!

  3. JASmius says:

Good lord, the Paulbots are lose! And me without my pocket Constitution.

Steve, what part of “fight the terrorists over there so we don’t get attacked by them over here” aren’t you grasping? If we wait until the enemy crashes through our own borders, the war really will already be lost.

Oh, yeah, that’s right, they already did that six years ago, after a decade in which….we weren’t fighting them “over there.”

I’d try to get over my fondness for sieges, if I were you.
