Uh-oh; the New York Times has lost its pro-war (or at least anti-retreat) virginity to the Petraeus “Surge”.  What will congressional Democrats (or Republicans, for that matter) say?

Democrats close down a secret counter-terrorism data mining program seven years ago, allowing al Qaeda to murder three thousand Americans on 9/11.  The Bushies keep it quiet because they have their own secret counter-terrorism programs that they want to keep going and not get exposed to the enemy.  Their DoJ gets wind of it anyway, gets Donk-like vapors, and screams bloody murder to then-Attorney General (and bed-ridden) John Ashcroft, sending then-White House Counsel and current Attorney-General Alberto Gonzales to Ashcroft’s bedside to try and salvage a critical tool against al Qaeda.

Thanks to the New York Times‘ loose lips, the NSA terrorist surveillance program was revealed and gutted.  But thanks to a nifty little counter-leak this week, the “perjury” slander of Gonzales’ Senate accusers has met a like fate.

And the Bushies need a little reminder about their Iran policy: If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.
