The man who walked away with the Oscar at tonight’s debate wasn’t even there… he was puffing on a big ol’ cigar in a 30 second clip that hit the blogosphere like a Florida wildfire. Smoke and all.
Fred Thompson walked away with it. No competition. Lah-di-dah.
Hey, if you got ‘em, smoke ‘em…. and Fred’s got ‘em.

I was not able to watch the debate so I’m very appreciative of the Live Blogging done here at Heading Right! I also did some review of other sites and it appears that Huckabee might have moved up out of that bottom tier.
As for Fred Thompson…yes, I saw the video response to Michael “ImADrainOnSociety” Moore and it was a classic, but (putting on kevlar now) I’m starting to wonder about Fred. I mean…I have not heard one thing from him, so far, that I disagree with but at the same time, he hasn’t even climbed into the sand box. This continued campaign by “proxy” of his leads me to two conclusions: either he is concerned that his health would hold up under a year and a half campaign or there is something he is concerned that will come out.

Don’t worry so much about that, Fight4TheRight. It’s really pretty simple. As soon as he declares, he’s off the air on all of those TV shows, and he has contractual obligations. He’s running, but he just can’t say he is yet.
