William F. Buckley has been kidnapped

It’s the only explaination. I know he’s he dean of conservatism, but I think the old man’s been sipping too many brandies. Check out his latest oped on NRO.

In one editorial he dooms George Bush, gives George Tenet creedence, calls the link between Iraq and Al Qaeda a farse, and even throws Dick Cheney to the mat.

I don’t know, when my dad got into his eighties he used to talk in circles and cry at Seinfeld.

Who knows……

Clarifying Obama

Ed, per Obama post:

First the pic I used is to draw the idea for readers that Obama in a literal sense is appeasing terrorist and the fact that Islamic terrorist are a very “clear and present danger”

The idea that he will treat attacks in a emergency response and fails I think on purpose to draw the extreme left to his attention; and makes no statement to the idea of retaliation and/or a preimmantant attack to thwart an attack, I think is not only dangerous, but irresponsible to the American people.

So cartoon pic is done on purpose to show that Obama is a dangerous candidate. even more so then Hilliary, at least she has the balls (no pun intended ) to say she will retaliate with force.

I hope that helps

My days in Real Estate

In today’s podcast I took the day off from the subject of politics and decided to talk about my days in Real Estate in the late 1980s. I had a lot of fun reminiscing, and hope you’ll enjoy listening to it.

TENET GETS SLAM DUNKED

The fact that Tenet got a Congressional Gold Medal is perhaps one of the biggest travesties I can imagine. He missed The Big One. Period. In the old Soviet Union, he would have been executed. We spend something like $70 billion on intelligence and all that hardware, all those Ivy League brains proved unable to stop a couple of determined fanatics with box cutters.

As far as I’m concerned, most of these post 9/11 “memoirs” from former government employees are self serving exercises in derriere covering. Perhaps with the exception of Richard Clark (damn him) who, while no doubt a real snot of a person nevertheless recognized the danger of al-Qaeda and tried to do what he could to get the government to confront it. Same goes for FBI counter terror head John O’Neil, who quit the agency and went to work as head of security for the world trade centers - in August of 2001. He died in the attacks.

Hitchens on Tenent

This is brutal, but deserving:

“In his latest effusion, he writes: “I do know one thing in my gut. Al-Qaeda is here and waiting.” Well, we all know that much by now. But Tenet is one of the few who knew it then, and not just in his “gut” but in his small brain, and who left us all under open skies. His ridiculous agency, supposedly committed to “HUMINT” under his leadership, could not even do what John Walker Lindh had done—namely, infiltrate the Taliban and the Bin Laden circle.”

That’ll leave a mark.

At the democrat debates is South Carolina the candidates all said that President Bush is evil, the root cause of all the worlds problems and VP Cheney is running Haliburton. They also all agreed President Bush policy of the terror war is a disgrace. In fact to avoid real debate they all decided that President Bush should be the focus of the debate.

Surprising almost all in attendance, President Bush was declared the devil.

So with the democrats now Prince Charming and clearly able to lead America out of the terror war and keep us safer then the President we get this following exchange from one of the leaders of the race. He may very well be our next VP or worse President.

WILLIAMS: Senator Obama, if, God forbid a thousand times, while we were gathered here tonight, we learned that two American cities had been hit simultaneously by terrorists, and we further learned, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that it had been the work of Al Qaeda, how would you change the U.S. military stance overseas as a result?

OBAMA: Well, the first thing we would have to do is make sure that we’ve got an effective emergency response — something that this administration failed to do when we had a hurricane in New Orleans — and I think that we have to review how we operate in the event of, not only a natural disaster, but also a terrorist attack.

The second thing is to make sure that we’ve got good intelligence: a) to find out that we don’t have other threats and attacks potentially out there; and b) to find out that we have any intelligence on who might have carried it out so that we can take potentially some action to dismantle that network. But what we can’t do is then alienate the world community based on faulty intelligence, based on bluster and bombast.

Instead, the next thing we would have to do, in addition to talking to the American people, is making sure that we are talking to the international community, because as already been stated, we’re not going to defeat terrorists on our own. We’ve got to strengthen our intelligence relationship with them, and they’ve got to feel a stake in our security, by recognizing that we have mutual security interests at stake.

Holy Christ…. are we in trouble if he wins! Emergency response? What is this hurricane Katrina?

And can someone tell me why they are all running against President Bush? He is not running, so why not go after each other?
